Formentera first evening Tue 9-2

After arrival at the hotel, we quickly went to the beach to take a dip, ahhh so nice

We could hardly contain our excitement at finally getting to get into the beautiful blue
Mediterranan

(
And, after 4
F
U
L
L, hot days in
Barcelona with no pool or trips to the beach.
It is really
H
O
T to us here because we are not used to all the humidity
!
After relaxing for just a bit, we decided we needed to make one last push to go eat since it had been 7 hours since our last meal
!
This is not a good thing for a long day, so off to get a taxi and head to the bigger town so that we could get groceries as well.
After much searching, looking at menus and trying to decide which places seemed good, we finally just chose a place to eat on their large patio.
One thing we have learned in spain that is different from the US, even what could be the worst place to eat is the best!!
Veggie lasagna for KR
but, oh so rich with all the amazing cheeses and spagetti for TR and of course fresh ground parmasaen and incredible fresh bakery bread and oil and vinegar.
Next, off to the grocery store, which we find out is closed by 10:00 pm, so we rush there by 9:30 and it was cleaned out like it was a
U.
S. store before a huge storm or some natural disaster.
We had noticed that kind of situation in
Croatia
)--we think the stores here just dont keep the shelves full from day to day; they go through their goods then re-stock before the beginming of the day and go through everything again.  Odd things -  bug spray is in a large plastic container, all the bug spray cans in there with a lock that you bring to the front so they can take out what you want.
Also, the little liquid cartridges they had for their plug-in mosquito preventers are kept in the locked boxes.
We're wondering if people abuse the stuff like they do with spray paint and
Sudafed products in the
U.
S...
?
Also, us crazy americans don't know how to do anything right in the grocery store, so apparently individual items like apples and packaged items need to have the price marked on them, so after much
Catalan
Spanish that we dont understand
(diff than
Castillian/
Mexican
Spanish
!
) and louder
& louder
(non understandable
) directions from the cashier, off goes tr to get some prices or tags, but couldnt figure it out so just grabbed a packaged thing of apples instead while Kr is waiting and the line is gettin bigger and bigger behind us, with lots of people a little frustrated with us.
Also, it is like the stores that you need your own bag and people dont really seem to use many carts, so mayhem caused by the americans not knowing the program.
Many
"lo siento
's
(
"
I'm sorry's
" later and the little
Spaniard cashier who kept exclaiming louder in
Catalan
(so we could
"hear
"
) was very sweet and nice to us as we left.

Another nice cashier at the store called us a taxi, who got there lickety split and brought us back, where we absolutely passed out until 9 am
